ABOUT
PHIL HUDSON
Action-Thriller Screenwriter. Entrepreneur. Doer.I write action-thrillers with pace, pressure, and clean beats. Comedy instincts sharpen character—but tension is the point.
I’m a Robert Redford Scholar in Screenwriting and a 16-year operator in Digital Marketing who builds brands that perform.
Recently, a year fighting Stage 3A colon cancer reset my priorities: death is real, life has stakes, and every page should move.
I’ve supported a working writers’ room on Tacoma FD and run a digital agency that keeps me accountable to results.
If you want clarity, escalation, and a teammate who can take notes and execute, we’ll get along.

THE WORK
What I Write
Commercial action-thrillers grounded in consequence. Clean structure. Cinematic engines.
- Clarity first: readable pages, clean beats, purposeful action
- Tension over noise: escalation, reversals, pressure tests
- Character with teeth: humor as a blade, not syrup
- Note-friendly: execute direction without breaking story
Core Genre: Action-Thriller; comedy instincts as an edge.
MY SOUL
Why I Write
I'm a storyteller to my core. I always have been. That will never die. I write because that is who I am.
- Early Years: I found writing during Oklahoma's state required Creative Writing exams in 5th and 8th grade.
- TV/Film Fan: TV/Film is how I bonded with my father, a man with lifelong cerebral palsy. We didn't play catch: we consumed stories.
- Value: Stories were an escape from a harrowing childhood. I survived because I could be someone one else somewhere else.
Why the Pages Got Sharper
They Say Write What You KnowIn late 2023 I got really sick. In February 2024 I was diagnosed with Stage 3A colon cancer. Two brutal surgeries, months of recovery, open wounds, infection. I’m cancer-free now. That year burned off the fluff. Death is real. Life has stakes. Every day matters. So every scene has to earn its place.
"Every day matters. Boundaries matter. Family matters. Your calling matters. Don't waste a second. Many have died so we can be here. We owe it to them to embrace every day with gratitude and strive for our measure of creation."
The Long Version
How I Got Here- Oklahoma → Pressure Cooker Small town, single-dad home, poverty, foster/group homes; learned how power works and how to stand back up.
- Utah at 15. Fresh start: wrestling, yearbook/photography, jobs; even robbed at gunpoint senior year—still showed up.
- Mission in Tucson (Spanish). Fell in love with the people and the work; learned service and resilience.
- Recession grind. Car nearly repossessed; a boss floated me; “Good Will Hunting” cracked me open; then 14-hour days until I became #1 in sales and started making money online.
- The five-year plan. Learn sales. Build ecom. Move to LA. Volunteer at Sundance. (Did all of it.)
- Breakthrough. Redford Scholarship → Santa Fe → finished BFA fast → moved to LA.
- Room-level reps. Supported Tacoma FD’s writers’ room and kept learning the job the right way.
The Quick Version
Everything In a NutshellPhil Hudson is an action-thriller screenwriter and entrepreneur. A Robert Redford Scholar in Screenwriting, he fast-tracked film school, moved to Los Angeles, and later supported the writers’ room on Tacoma FD. Before film, he spent 15 years building brands in SEO/CRO, which shows up on the page as clean structure and measurable intent. In 2024, a Stage 3A colon cancer diagnosis—and recovery—reframed his work around consequence and time. Phil writes kinetic, character-driven stories with clarity, tension, and just enough humor to sharpen the blade.
